Accessibility Statement for codegarden.nl
Blue Code Garden B.V. (trading as “Code Garden”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to making its website https://www.codegarden.nl (the “Website”) accessible to as wide an audience as possible, including people with visual, hearing, motor, or cognitive impairments. This statement describes the current level of accessibility of the Website, the steps we are taking, and how to get in touch if you experience a barrier.
1. Statement — update in progress
We are actively improving the accessibility of the Website. Recent work has focused on the homepage, the main navigation, and our solutions and use-case pages, including colour contrast in dark mode, keyboard focus styles, and consistent heading structure. Further improvements are planned and this statement will be updated as new audits are completed.
2. Commitment to accessibility
Although Blue Code Garden B.V. is a private organisation and is not subject to the public-sector accessibility obligations of the EU Web Accessibility Directive (Directive (EU) 2016/2102) or the Dutch Tijdelijk besluit digitale toegankelijkheid overheid, we voluntarily align our Website with those standards and with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882). We believe digital accessibility is part of professional craftsmanship, not a compliance afterthought.
3. Level of conformance to the accessibility standard
We aim for the Website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. At the time of writing, the Website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA: most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform.
Known limitations include:
- Some decorative animations on the homepage do not yet expose a visible “reduce motion” control, although they respect the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. - Embedded third-party content (for example external blog or media embeds) may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA, as it is outside our direct control.
- Downloadable PDF documents linked from the Website have not yet been audited for accessibility and may not be fully tagged.
4. Measures to improve accessibility
To support and continuously improve accessibility, Blue Code Garden B.V.:
- treats accessibility as a non-functional requirement in our own design, development, and review processes;
- uses semantic HTML, ARIA attributes where appropriate, accessible colour contrast, and keyboard-operable components in our design system;
- trains our designers and engineers on WCAG 2.2 and on practical inclusive-design techniques;
- runs automated accessibility checks as part of our internal tooling and reviews findings during development.
5. Accessibility audit
This statement is based on an internal review of the Website against WCAG 2.2 Level AA, combined with automated testing. We plan to commission a more in-depth, independent accessibility audit once the next round of remediation is complete, and to publish the outcome here.
6. Feedback and contact information
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on the Website, or if you have questions or suggestions about how we can do better, please let us know. We will do our best to respond within ten (10) business days and to provide the information you need in an alternative, accessible format where possible.
- Email: accessibility@codegarden.nl
- Contact form: codegarden.nl/contact
7. Enforcement procedure
If you are not satisfied with our response to an accessibility complaint, you can contact the Dutch Authority for Consumers and Markets (Autoriteit Consument & Markt) or, where applicable, the relevant supervisory authority in your own country.
